"Y'all means All"
- Karis Agnew, PROMO Field Director
I only recently got involved with PROMO, or the Privacy Rights Education Project, however, their goal as an organization is very near and dear to my heart. PROMO envisions a Missouri where everyone has full equality in the hearts and minds of citizens, in all areas of the law, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
The part of PROMO that caught my eye was "a Missouri where everyone has full equality in the hearts and minds of citizens." Laws can be passed all the time, but if we as a community cannot be accepted among all people, then the laws won't be changing anything. As such, in the Spring of 2019, I began volunteering with PROMO's phone banking campaign as part of their data management team. While I may not be confident enough to help work the phones, my attention to detail and willingness to double and triple check the numbers and data make me a valuable member of the team. I am incredibly excited to see where my involvement with PROMO goes from here.
